Not all is lost with Covid-19. Jonathan Wein at Glentree, has been cracking open the ouzo in celebration of the sale of ex-King Constantine II of Greece’s former London ‘palace’ in Hampstead Garden Suburb which, despite the lockdown, managed to sell for over £6million.

There is a pleasing dramatic flourish to the story, since originally the King bought the property in the early 70s, from the serial entrepreneur, Bob Tanner – joint founder of Glentree International – for the princely sum of £325,000, at the time. Continue reading

The first fruits of Brexit?

In the first two quarters of last year, trading for us, was positively awful in all price ranges, so much so, that we thought our phones had been ‘cut off’ by our competitors and that the ‘end of the world was nigh!’

Thank goodness, from July 2017 until the present day, certainly amongst the international buying community, the word is out that London property prices are now cheap, having been decimated by the ridiculous Stamp Duty hikes of the last Chancellor, where discount on values in the order of 30%, are now quite common.
